मीरा‑भाईंदर: महानगरपालिका के सफाई कर्मचारियों को उनके काम और सुरक्षा के मामले में उचित मान सम्मान नहीं मिलने का साफ उदाहरण सामने आया है। मंगलवार को कोणार्क ठेकेदार के सफाई कर्मचारी बिना हैंडग्लव और मास्क के गटर/नाली की सफाई करते दिखाई दिए।

स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि यह कोई नई बात नहीं है, कई बार महानगरपालिका कर्मचारियों की सुरक्षा पर ध्यान नहीं देता। ऐसे हालात में कर्मचारियों को गंभीर स्वास्थ्य और दुर्घटना के जोखिम में डालना सरासर लापरवाही है।

नागरिक और स्थानीय अधिकारी सवाल कर रहे हैं कि मीरा‑भाईंदर महानगरपालिका कब इस मामले में सख्त कार्रवाई करेगी, ताकि सफाई कर्मचारियों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित हो सके और उन्हें सम्मान मिले।

मीरा‑भाईंदर (मुंबई): मंगलवार, 9 दिसंबर की सुबह करीब 12 बजे, मीरा‑भाईंदर के इंद्रलोक इलाके स्थित कस्तूरी हाइट्स बिल्डिंग की A‑विंग में अचानक भीषण आग लग गई। आग इतनी तीव्र थी कि देखते ही देखते पूरे फ्लोर पर फैल गयी और बिल्डिंग का बड़ा हिस्सा क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया।

घटना के अनुसार, शुरुआत एक तारों में शॉर्ट सर्किट से हुई, लेकिन निवासी दावा कर रहे हैं कि पंप व फायर टैंक में पानी नहीं था — जिसके कारण आग इतनी तेजी से फैल गयी। यदि फायर ब्रिगेड समय पर नहीं पहुंचती, तो परिणाम और भी भयावह हो सकता था।

इस हादसे में लगभग 6‑7 लोग घायल हुए। इनमें एक चार‑साल का बच्चा शामिल है। कुछ जख्मी लोगों को पंडित भीमसेन जोशी हॉस्पिटल में भर्ती कराया गया, जबकि अन्य को भक्ति वेदांत हॉस्पिटल में ले जाया गया है।

मौके पर पहुंचे फायर ब्रिगेड अधिकारियों ने बताया कि आग फैलने में फायर‑सेफ्टी सिस्टम की अनुपस्थिति — विशेष रूप से पानी न होने वाले फायर टैंकों — ने स्थिति को जोखिमपूर्ण बना दिया।

स्थानीय निवासियों व घटना के गवाहों का कहना है कि बिल्डिंग में फायर ख़तरा पहले से मौजूद था, लेकिन समय रहते कोई सुधार नहीं किया गया। अब वे प्रशासन व बिल्डिंग मैनेजमेंट से जवाब मांग रहे हैं।

घटनास्थल पर रिस्क मैनेजमेंट, बिल्डिंग सेफ्टी नियमों की समीक्षा और पुनरावलोकन की मांग जोर पकड़ चुकी है, ताकि भविष्य में ऐसी त्रासदियों से बचा जा सके।

Mira Bhayandar: A new educational initiative was launched in Mira Bhayandar today, where aspirants of competitive exams are being assisted. A ‘Study Centre’ was inaugurated for students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, MPSC, IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS, IFoS, etc. This centre is dedicated to students who do not need to travel to other cities for preparation.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Hinduja Samrat Sw. Balasaheb Thackarey Kala Dalan, was attended by Chief Guest Chivrak Prabhari Vasudev Kamath, Transport Minister of Maharashtra, and Dharashiv MLA Pratap Sarnaik.

The Study Centre is equipped with modern facilities including a spacious library, digital learning zone, and guidance centre. Its aim is to provide students with a conducive and inspiring environment.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister Pratap Sarnaik said, “When books are in the hands of students and dreams are in their eyes, the future of the city becomes bright.” This Study Centre has taken a strong step in making Mira Bhayandar a ‘knowledge city’ – where future officers and public servants will be prepared.

MBMC Elections: Reservation Draw on Nov 11

The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation has finalized its ward formation for the upcoming elections. According to Secretary Dinesh Kangude, 50% of the seats in the reserved wards are allocated for women candidates. Additionally, there are four seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and one seat for Scheduled Tribes.

The draw for these reservations is scheduled to take place on November 11 at 11 am at Nanasahab Dharmadhikari Sabha Hall.

Out of the 24 wards in Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, 15 are reserved. In these reserved wards, 50% of seats are for women, leading to a significant increase in seats for women candidates. A total of 48 seats will remain reserved for women. The remaining seats will follow the 27% OBC reservation, with 26 seats reserved for OBC candidates. Interested candidates from OBC categories are preparing accordingly for the elections.

Inauguration of the RRR library by the Commissioner

  • The RRR library at Mira Road in the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation headquarters was inaugurated by Commissioner Radhabinod Sharma.
  • This is the commissioner’s initiative. The library has been set up in the Mira Bhayandar municipality for the knowledge enhancement and skill development of officers and employees.
  • Books on various topics useful for daily work in Marathi, Hindi, and English, as well as about 1200 books in other languages, are available for reading in this library.
  • The library is an important part of the RRR Center (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle) established under the Swachh Bharat Mission within the city. Encouragement will be given to follow the concept of reducing waste from the past.
  • Child-friendly books were donated to the RRR library by Palika’s R.R.R. Trust. Modern furniture was also provided.
  • The trust has made about 1000 books on various topics available to the library. Books are being given as gifts to citizens. The library will benefit municipal employees, students, and citizens to gain knowledge. The commissioner has expressed confidence that some other offices in the municipality will also start libraries like this.
